June was a month of adventuring, envisioning and experimenting. And this issue looks different as it was first created on mobile whilst travelling!
It's a personal one, sharing with you where I am at. The pace, the edges, the landscape.
Perhaps it resonates with you...
What’s your month gifted you?
What has flowed fast/slow and what has taken you to the edges of your river?
Who has witnessed where you are at?
I always love to hear from you. Whatever this stirs up, or if you feel drawn to come down to Poole, hit reply or drop me an email: felicity@bendtheriver.org
Let’s work backwards…this was written from France, all tapped out on the phone!
1. Life at 6-26km/hr
For the last week I’ve been on my bike, cycling St.Malo to Cherbourg. 338km so far, over 6 days.
Today’s our last day, with an estimated 59km. We leave Saint Vaast-la-Hougue, make a detour coffee stop to Barfleur, designated one of France’s prettiest villages.
Then, we make our way to wheel onto the evening ferry and cycle the last few km home to our own bed tonight.
It’s been a foodie adventure; following the Velomaritime signposts, relishing the movement, panting up hills, chatting (sort of) in French, soaking up tranquility. Being alongside Fi, outdoors all day, in our rhythm, cycling our loaded bikes, picnic lunches, experiencing the care of B&B hosts, is joy defined for me.
It’s been such a reminder to know what brings you joy… make it a regular part of life! My relationship with nature was shaped by being active outdoors.
Q. What has shaped your relationship with nature?
I’ve put together my postcard from France for you, you’ll find it at the end:)
Life at bike speed was a much needed slowing down after an intense fast flowing period of idea generation….
2. Envisioning a Landscape
This was unexpected. Mid June, I headed off to Nature Connected Coaching Live, a 2 day event at Henley Business Campus. It would be wrong to call it a conference, it was much more of a gathering of like minded people. Coaches who work systemically, somatically with nature alongside.
In choosing my workshops, I leant into my preferences for somatic inquiry, equalising and supervision. The insights of one workshop impacting the next and starting to crystallise into something that started to feel more tangible by the end.
Conversations by and with the river, the flower beds, the trees; whilst lake swimming and river dipping. From breakfast to the evening fire pit. So many new relationship seeds were planted.
Check out my two LinkedIn posts covering the gathering
With a further few days of intense reflections, follow up conversations I started to map out all the ideas.
It’s starting to look like an ecosystem of offers under the landscape of Move Together as Nature.
It was a period of very fast flow, albeit just 10 days, I travelled fast, and ideas popped and bubbled.
Personal Reflection
I met a familiar but not recently lived edge: how, when going fast can one keep others with you?
This time of meeting this edge, I’ve been reframing this, and asking myself:
What matters most when pace between you is not the same? What conversation focus nurtures trust and togetherness?
I’ve been learning it’s ok to not share the same pace; what’s more important to agree is where to meet up again and how to meet up.
What’s the Landscape looking like?
I can tell you this much…
There will be lots of collaborations with other practitioners; it’s already started.
There will be an adventure to come & join me and others. Think rivers and walking, travelling from source to sea.
There will be The Unfurling, a series of small group gatherings for practitioners and space-holders to come and deepen both presence and practice.
There will be nature, coaching, supervision, movement and togetherness!!!
The 5 Invitations will be the light touch, adaptable framework that roots all the work. Offering a way to both explore and build the relationality the world much needs now.
There will be a lot more Experimentation & Co-creation of people meeting people.
And I would love for you to join me.
If you want to be the first to know more, the details will be coming out in July, just REPLY - EXPERIMENT!
And it all started here….
3. Experimentation, 5 Invitations
Over the first two weeks of June. It all began.
11 wonderful individuals helped me move an idea into reality. Together we created The Experiment: Move Together with Nature. 90min individual sessions across 5 local locations.
Accessible, low key places of nature. Ideal for everyday access.
I welcomed them at a bench, we settled down together with a light touch sharing of what would come next, answering questions and preparing the ground for what would follow.
I designed The 5 Invitations to create a physiological shift. The first 4 (Roots, Symphony, Pulse, Mirror) gently calming the parasympathetic nervous system and opening up awareness. By the time of inquiry into the 5th Invitation of Flow, the body and mind is at ease.
It was the most impactful coaching in just 90 mins that I have ever been privileged to witness. Deep, meaningful, intimate somatic work.
The sort of depth one hopes for after working with someone for a while…
"A physical position to return, roll myself, receive... draws a perfect line under my busy brain." — Beth Carter
"If I was stuck, heavy in some elements... definitely helped to give life. The programmatic elements flowed, I felt a rhythm because I had settled." — Ashley Crocker
"To fix a memory touch, a tangible way to keep the spirit... a really big deal! My body is holding vs me." — Claire Main
"A shift, mirror... emerging." — Diane Allton
This was so much more impactful than I had hoped for.
The next round will be end of July. There will be 6 spaces. It is individual, and ideal for anyone who is feeling full, brain clogged, isolated. Or just off kilter in life.
This time, I’ll be testing out pricing (choose the price you need, no q’s asked £45/£95/£145) and some practical back office admin.

If you’d like to receive an invitation to join me at a bench for one of these 6 spaces, or there is someone you know who would benefit… pls reply NATURE.
Will your name be next on the handcrafted Memory Seeds?
